Job Summary

Supports and advances research activities within the college by ensuring compliance with institutional policies, funding agency guidelines, and ethical standards. Manages the day-to-day operations related to grant management, preparation and submission of grant applications, financial activities, and reporting. Oversees data collection on grant submissions, maintains a faculty expertise database, and coordinates the management of research labs and centers, including space assignments.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures compliance with institutional policies, funding agency guidelines, and ethical standards in collaboration with the Office of Research.
2. Maintains and updates a research portal with resources for college faculty.
3. Supports the Office of the Dean in organizing and coordinating research seminars, workshops, and events in coordination with the Office of Research.
4. Coordinates efforts to align college research initiatives with the broader university research strategy.
5. Assists in preparing grant applications, with a particular focus on the additional documentation needed for grant proposals, including budget.
6. Monitors grant budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
7. Ensures timely and accurate reporting.
8. Oversees data collection about grant submissions, awards, and publications.
9. Creates and maintains an updated faculty expertise database within the college.
10. Provides data analysis and visualization support for research data.
11. Assigns research lab and center spaces to ensure optimal use and efficiency of space resources.
12. Acts as a liaison with the technical support team to maintain and update lab equipment and software.
13. Coordinate with facilities management to ensure lab environments are safe, clean, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
14. Assist in the planning and implementing lab upgrades, renovations, and expansions.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience

Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience in project management within a university, non-profit, or academic medical center setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Preferred Experience
Grant and budget experience
Laboratory management in higher education

ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of policies, procedures, and requirements, and all applicable regulations governing

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
