Position Overview:

We are currently partnered with Ruffalo Noel Levitz and use their AFAS system to guide our financial aid strategies.

As the University of Idahos chief financial aid officer, the Director of Financial Aid reports to the Vice Provost for Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) and will provide leadership and strategic direction to the university regarding innovative student financial aid programs. They will provide leadership and supervision to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Responsibilities include: serving all students to provide strategic leadership to a contemporary financial aid program, participating as a member of the SEM leadership team, assisting in the development of new scholarship programs, maintaining an effective financial literacy program, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and implementing/assessing our financial aid programs to recruit and retain the best students.


Required Experience:
  • Seven or more years of experience in a leadership position within Financial Aid
  • Experience in the use of student information systems and data analysis to maximize financial aid programs
  • Working knowledge of all financial aid regulations at a management level
  • Experience working effectively with a wide range of constituencies
  • Prior higher education experience in making presentations to groups to large and small groups including a variety of constituents


Required Education:
  • Masters Degree


Required Other:
  • Ability to periodically travel locally, regionally and nationally for programmatic activities and professional development

Additional Preferred:
  • Doctoral degree
  • Experience as a director of financial aid at a large institution
